Pride 1983 explores the origins and lasting legacy of Burlington, Vermont’s first LGBTQ2+ Pride celebration on June 25, 1983.
On view Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm at the Billings Library Apse, Silver Special Collections, University of Vermont (48 University Place, Burlington, VT).
“A Way to Keep Our Culture Present” at Burlington City Hall
Since 1992, Vermont Folklife’s Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program (VTAAP) has supported nearly 400 apprenticeships in artforms that reflect the shared cultural history, values, and aesthetics of the groups that practice them.
This exhibit uses photography and the words of the artists to explore ten traditional art forms which have been supported by VTAAP over the last three decades.

Take a journey that includes learning to play by ear, learning details of style for folk music, learning how to create harmonies and chords and learning how to join in tunes with others.

In 2023 and 2022, Vermont Folklife partnered with CVOEO on a project to explore poverty in Vermont through the voices of their clients and employees. Come and listen to the experiences of your neighbors who struggle with and work to alleviate the impacts of poverty in our state.
