Vermont Folklife Digital Archive

Vermont Folklife’s Digital Archive currently consists of three online resources, Vermont Folklife Digital Collections, a database that provides remote access to a selection of materials from our physical holdings, the Pawlet Community Study (1890-1990), a database originally created by Pawlet, VT photographer, Neil Rappaport that contains extensive photographic documentation of residents of Pawlet from the 1890s, 1920s and early 1970s-1990s, and the Bernie Memes Collection, approximately 1,500 versions of the meme featuring the viral photograph of Senator Bernie Sanders and his mittens.

Digitization and access work has been supported by the National Endowment for the Arts Folk and Traditional Arts Program, National Endowment for the Humanities Division of Preservation and Access, Council on Library and Information Resources, GRAMMY Foundation, the Hildene Award, Lake Champlain Basin Program and our generous donors.
