Tibetan Dance and Dranyen

Tibetan Dance, Song and Dranyen
Mentor Artist: Migmar Tsering

Seated in a semi-circle on the floor at Burlington’s Old North End community center, students of the Rolyang Lobling School of Performing Arts pick out notes and strum on the six strings of the dranyen, a traditional Tibetan instrument similar to the lute. Mentor artist Migmar Tsering also teaches traditional and contemporary Tibetan dances and songs, which are accompanied by the dranyen.
