Lincoln General Store Memories and Listening Party

  • Lincoln Library 222 West River Road Lincoln, VT, 05443 United States (map)

Join us for an afternoon of sharing stories and memories to celebrate the Lincoln General Store and explore the role of community stores in Vermont.

Addison County historian Linda Barnard will begin by guiding a group story session. Participants will be invited to share memories of the Lincoln store. Vermont Folklife staff will also share oral history recordings from their Archive, which were recorded with general store owners across the state in the late 1970s (including an interview with Lincoln's own Mary Purinton!) Together we will think about the importance of listening to and preserving local history and stories.

In collaboration with the Lincoln Historical Society and the Lincoln Library.
