Eliza West

Communications and Operations Director

Eliza West is a material culturalist and craftsperson, with a passion for understanding the connections between the made world, individual and community craft knowledge, and design. She has an MA from the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture (2019), where her research explored the intersection between historical textile skills and industrialization and how we can recapture craft knowledge through experimentation.

She loves playing with words, design, and storytelling, and can’t think of a better way to spend her time than by sharing the Folklife Center’s mission with the world.

Eliza sits on the board of the Heritage Winooski Mill Museum the Marshfield School of Weaving Study Collection, and the Henry Sheldon Museum’s Collections Committee.
