Sanborn Partidge

Partridge, Sanborn of Proctor, Rutland County Senator, Republican, was born at Proctor, Vermont on April 30, 1915. Occupation: educator, geologist. He was educated in elementary schools in Proctor, Vermont; Westminster School, Simsbury Connecticut; Amherst College (B.A., 1936); Yale University (LL.B., 1939), with Yale-Harvard certificate for special law/business course that included two semesters at Harvard Business School, 1938, and Yale University (M.S., 1947). He is not married. Member of: (now or formerly) Vt. Bicentennial Comm.; various legislative commissions; various historical societies; former director of Rutland Hospital; Rutland Red Cross; former Chairman of UVM Trustees; President of 3 Boy Scout Councils; BSA Regional Board member; etc. He has bee Town Grand Juror, Town Agent, pre 1942. He served in the Army Air Corps, later Army Air Force, from Private to 1st Lt., July, 1942 to January, 1946. Member of the House from Proctor for 1961, 1963 and 1965 and representative from District 41 for 1966 and 1967-68. Served in the Senate from Rutland County in 1969 to date.
